LGPOF raises money and awareness on behalf of children battling any type of cancer. We are particularly interested in viable investigations that will significantly impact the course of treatment to significantly improve survival rates.
Additionally, we are determined to bring about changes in FDA procedures to allow fast-tracking of experimental therapeutics to those children facing impending doom barring divine intervention.
We also provide informational, emotional and financial support to improve the quality of life for the children and their families.
THE PERSONAL heartfelt ANSWER:
Who are we? We are every grieving family:
- who fears not only the cancer but the treatment for it.
- who need things to change since the status quo is unacceptable.
- who manages to get Family Leave time but no pay.
- who feels that the research being done now is better than nothing but leaves much to be desired despite the billions of dollars involved. Chemo is awful - been there, done that. There's got to be a better way.
